Our Story
Created in August 1970, South Sheridan Water Association was created to provide drinking water to the citizens of Sheridan and residents south of the Sheridan city limits that did not have access to drinking water.
Our History
Founded in 1970, the North and South water wells were dug and water began pumping in the newly formed water system. The first water tower and the first pump station were built. Then shortly after the first service truck was purchased. We have continuously supplied clean drinking water to the members of the association for many years. In 2025 we suffered a huge loss due to a lighting strike that destroyed our pump station and halted water distribution for several days until we were able to re-establish water supply. Since then a new plant has been built and as of February 2026 the system is back to nearly full capacity.
